Élan Overview

Élan is ready to leave the dock today for extended cruising. This blue water sailer will take you anywhere your dreams can imagine. She has traveled the world and now it’s your turn.  She is currently cruising the US Keys and the Bahamas.

This Crealock designed Cabo Rico Custom Yacht has taken its place as one of the finest cruising sailboats in the world. She is featured in Ferenc Mate’s book “The Worlds Best Sailboats volume II” where you can view the impeccable quality workmanship and classic lines.  "Cabo Rico has gained a well deserved reputation ... (by) paying close attention to detail", states SAILING MAGAZINE. Naval Academy grad Scott Steward calls Cabo Ricos “fabulous offshore boats that sail happily in big winds”.  They have a smooth powerful gliding motion partly from the true compound-curve clipper bow and partly from the dolphin style hull shape.

Cabo Rico yachts are fast yet comfortable underway, safe and easy to sail. Balancing beautifully in light or heavy air, the hands off tracking ability combines with good pointing and a fine turn of speed. Elegant and comfortable living accommodations surround you with hand finished, solid teak, plantation grown in Costa Rica. Designed to carry all the provisions and equipment you need for long distance sailing, they will take you quickly and safely anywhere you want to go... and back again.

Êlan’s layout; The companionway gives safe passage in any conditions. It also provides extensive and convenient stowage for jack lines, harnesses, tethers and other personal safety items which are aboard. Ready-access port and starboard cabinets for binoculars, ditty bag, spare winch handles, etc.

To starboard below is the Queen size guest cabin, with sink, hanging locker, multiple cabinets and attached private head with shower (a second door gives access from the head to the saloon).

Forward of the guest head, is the Nav Station with bookshelf, sizeable nav table, cabin-sole storage, and a locker for manuals and cruising guides. A counter runs forward from the Nav Table to the forward cabin bulkhead. Above the counter is a bookshelf, and a sizeable locker for light-weight stowage. Below the counter is a chart drawer for full size paper charts; a slide-out bar.

To port of the companionway is the galley, which includes a 3 burner AC electric stove with oven; fittings for a galley belt; a DC reefer and freezer with separate compressors; double SS sink; microwave oven; Corian counters; substantial ready-access stowage, and a full inventory of dishes.

Forward of the galley, is the saloon seating/dining area. The teak table has a recessed wine pocket. Custom stowage for eight settings of china (included). Substantial additional stowage above and below both the outboard settee, and in the center-line floating settee. The floating settee slides forward to give access to the stand-in engine compartment.

The forward stateroom has a raised Queen berth, two substantial hanging lockers, three drawers; a vanity with drawer and swing out seat, deep stowage under the mattress, numerous cabinets, a hidden cabinet next to the bunk, and a locker with a safe at the end of the bunk. The forward head is large with extra storage and access to the anchor locker.
